Cool Summer

ADDING A TOUCH OF DECOR!

Use blinds and add curtains! Adding curtains on top of blinds not only adds to the decor of your home it helps crate an extra barrier that will help block the light and heat! For the most effectiveness, black out curtains are the best. Me personally, I like the sun coming in so I've chosen curtains that aren't so heavy but still block some light. It's really just preference.

ICE ICE BABY!

All you need for this is a fan, a metal bowl, and a bag of ice! Instead of blasting the AC you just take the bag of ice, place it in the metal bow, and set it tilted in front of your fan! Doing this in an area that is more occupied than others is best so you can feel the results. It may not seem like the most efficient way to beat the heat but I promise, it's worth a try!

REPLACE YOUR WINTER BEDDING!

Switch out your winter sheets! No one likes to over heat as they sleep. Your bedding can retain body heat causing us to feel miserable when its the hot season. Cotton is probably the best kind of material that you can use as it allows air to flow easier. Therefor keeping you much cooler at night!

CEILING FANS!

Did you know that most ceiling fans have a reverse setting?? Yep! There is a switch that you should be able to move from clockwise to counter-clockwise for the hot months. At a high speed it crates whats called a "wind-chill breeze". It lifts the cooler air to the top to circulate it.  In the winter months, it's opposite!  So grab a stool, and check your fan setting! Remember, summer is COUNTER-clockwise.

GRILLING!

Finally, it's grilling season!! I love the summer and being able to smell those grills fired up!  When I was little my dad wouldn't even let us turn the kitchen oven on. Using the oven can increase the temperatures in your home drastically! So, we spent a lot of time outside cooking our dinners. It was the best time to spend it together as a family or even invite some friends over for a get together. So get out there, water your lawn, enjoy nature, and make some memories while your barbecuing!!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST...

HAVE FUN, STAY SAFE, AND STAY COOL!
